Neuroscience research is advancing rapidly, and coaches who understand and utilize this research are positioned to get better results for their clients and stand out in a crowded industry. This 15-week online programme is designed for coaches who want to learn the neuroscience behind what drives emotions, thoughts, and behaviour and deliver more transformative results to their coaching clients using the most current neuroscience research.

The objectives are that youll be able to:

Understand the brain processes behind thinking, emotion, and behaviour – and turn the neuroscience you learn into actionable tools you can use with clients

  • Ask more powerful questions so you can get to the root of client blocks
  • Help clients understand why they react the way they do, why they do things the way they do, and why they keep doing things the same way instead of changing so that they can apply the neuroscience to themselves, and use it with their team
  • Deliver more transformative results to coaching clients using the most current neuroscience research

The techniques, insights, and lessons you can directly apply in your coaching include:

  1. How to help your clients create neuroplastic change
  2. How to harness the power of the prefrontal cortex to improve focus and decision-making
  3. How to structure goals for success and use dopamine to your advantage
  4. How to make progress every day
  5. How to use insight for creative problem solving
  6. How to harness the power of flow
  7. Lisa Feldman Barrett’s new theory of constructed emotion that changes everything we know about emotion and emotional intelligence
  8. The neuroscience of stress
  9. The thoughts, behaviours and actions required to develop resilience
  10. How our neurobiology is involved in perceiving, thinking about, and behaving towards others
  11. The importance of gut health for psychological and cognitive functioning
  12. How exercise improves cognitive functioning and psychological wellbeing, and its importance for healthy aging
  13. How adequate sleep protects our mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety

This program was designed by Dr. Irena O’Brien, PhD, a cognitive neuroscientist who has been studying psychology and neuroscience for over 20 years. After working as an accountant for 15 years, Irena went back to university and obtained her PhD in Psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal, with a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University. She is the founder of The Neuroscience School, a neuroscience training and information program for coaches and helping professionals, where she un-complicates neuroscience and teaches practical evidence-based tools and strategies coaches can use in their practice.
