In a landmark research project by Deloitte (2014), they discovered that 70% of the 2532 business and HR leaders surveyed responded that they are "currently evaluating" or have recently "reviewed and updated" their performance management system. This change has far reaching implications and benefits.

This conference will concentrate on how coaching can be instrumental in changing the landscape of performance planning and improvement. Coaching is all about critical thinking, planning, accountability and actions that can be taken to move a person from where they are to where they want to be and taking them further than they would have gone alone. Coaching is proven to stimulate new thinking, new behaviors, heightened motivation, focus, and drive.

A global study found that the average manager spends more than 200 hours a year on activities related to performance review–things like sitting in training sessions, filling out forms and delivering evaluations to employees. What if organizations were to inspire managers to allocate a portion of those hours to learning how to coach, and to use those skills during regular meetings with direct reports (e.g. bi-weekly, monthly, weekly...) instead of meeting once or twice a year to complete forced ranking evaluations that have proven to be less than inspiring? It is a game changer.
